Edgar Ool

Major Donor

Edgar Ool was born in Valga, Estonia on September 27, 1932.

Like so many he was forced to flee Estonia. He went first to Lubeck, living in Bergedorf (Hamburg) from 1944-1948, and then on to Nottingham, England from 1948-1954 before making a home for himself in Canada.

Edgar settled in Edmonton in 1954, eventually owning his own home, and he worked in construction as well as for the Royal Alexandra Hospital and University of Alberta Hospital. Edgar spent his adult life in Edmonton before passing on April 20, 2016 at the age of 83.

A life-long supporter of the Estonian culture in his adopted homeland, Edgar made a generous bequest to the Estonian Foundation of Canada. His legacy will help ensure an Estonian future in Canada.
